Enjoyment in life

Puzzles and friends, yes…please

Do you take time out for activities that you enjoy?

I’ll never forget the day I realized that as a grown adult, I had no idea what I actually enjoyed doing in my “free” time. ??‍♀️

You know that country song that goes…

I’m in a hurry to get things done, I rush and rush til life’s no fun! ?
(Yeah, that’s been me)?

You too!?

Well, today I think it’s important for you to understand the relevance of learning what you do enjoy. ?

The truth is we are literally programmed to seek pleasure, so when we don’t take time to enjoy life’s small moments of enjoyment…we will subconsciously seek it in other ways (for example, in our food)?

Now, don’t misunderstand…enjoying our food is natural and necessary. But balance…It is key in life.?

What do you enjoy in life? For me, the picture below probably says it all…but I love being with friends and I love doing puzzles.❤️

Comment below to share one thing you enjoy doing, for fun. ?

Living in the Moment

Hope y’all had a very merry Christmas.

For myself, today’s freedom find was recognizing how much more flexible one can be by living in the present.

What I mean by freedom find is this...

In the past, I was totally immersed in diet culture. So everyday, including Christmas Day (unfortunately) was a bit tainted for me since I thought I wasn’t good enough if I wasn’t thin enough.

Since, breaking free from diet culture I realize I can live my best life now...regardless of what I weigh. I’ve found freedom.

Today what that meant is meeting and enjoying this sweet little bundle of love who joined my sister and hubby unexpectedly a few weeks early.

I love baby snuggles. It made my day. Today that was living in the moment ... sneaking away for a few minutes to celebrate with my sis. ❤️

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday as well.

Ps. If you feel this coaching may help you enjoy the holidays more, send me a message. No need to wait til the new year to commit to a change ❤️

The holiday plan

Hey there,

Happy Saturday!

I just wanted to reach out today and share how the holidays used to be for me.

I spent so many years in turmoil about my food and body image at the holidays.

If you are anything like I’ve been you may be feeling torn about the goodies and wondering what’s better…

Is it better to just let your diet go and enjoy the food right now and get back to your diet at the new year Or is it better to just hate yourself into a change and feel deprived?

Well, I think it is important for you to know that you actually have another option. You can create sustainable habits that lead to a sustainable change all year long.

Since we know that Christmas is going to happen every single year, are you ready to find what does work for you long term? Just send me a message if you want to have long term results that go beyond just a number on the scale!

If I can do it, you can too. Seriously – YOU can live your best life right now! ❤️

Diet Culture

Hi there,

Happy Tuesday, friends. Let’s talk about diet culture for a sec. Ok? Diet culture is the belief that you are not ok unless you are thin. Diet culture leads us to believe we are broken and the only way to fix that is to successfully diet and get to the “perfect” size, which is often an unrealistic number on the scale.

I’ve been there…I get it. (last time I counted, I can come up with at least 10 diets I’ve done….a few times)

If you are anything like many of us, you have probably tried a few diet programs yourself.

Which one worked best for you?

For me, Jenny Craig worked best. And what I realized when I did Jenny Craig is that the missing piece for me in every other program was the accountability piece that having a jenny craig consultant provided!

But guess what, as soon as I got to goal and began to work hard to do it on my own….I found myself slipping.

Then I began to realize, if I wanted to do be at an ideal body weight on my own…I needed to figure out how to be accountable to myself.

This is where the real healing begins. Food and weight challenges are just a doorway to deeper insights into growth that is possible by facing the deeper challenges in life.

By taking a deeper dive, we can then begin true transformation in our entire life. We achieve results that go WAY beyond a number on the scale.

If this speaks to you, today’s the day.

Why focus is important!

Wanna fly?

When I went to college (a long time ago?)having heard you can be whatever you want to be…I took many different prerequisites and I looked into a lot of career paths but I never did finish any programs in that phase of my life. ( I didn’t have a focus so I didn’t reach any particular goal)

If you’re thinking, I hear you…that’s me too. You may be curious about what I’m doing differently now!?

Well, I think it’s important for you to know that our subconscious brain is responsible for 95% of brain activity.

Since the subconscious mind simply obeys the commands of the conscious brain to make your behavior fit a pattern consistent with the desires of the conscious brain – It’s then quite relevant what the conscious brain’s 5% is focused on.

So, what dreams are you intentionally pursuing?

Less Regrets

Aren’t they just the cutest??
However, I’m like 99.9% sure I did not enjoy the experience of this Christmas Day 5 years ago like I intend to enjoy the holiday with them this year! ?
You see friends, at this point in my life I was completely immersed in diet culture – the belief that I must be thin to be “ok”. ?
I was completely obsessed with a certain weight and truly believed I would be happier and like my life better if I was thin. ??‍♀️
But guess what? My life itself is actually 1000% improved since I broke free from this limiting belief and determined instead that the current day is the time to begin to live my very best life! ??
Hear, hear!? ?
Anyone want to join me in this pursuit? If you are ready to begin to actually enjoy the holiday with your people (and also actually enjoy the food,) just send me a message.
I’d love to jump on a call so we can chat details of how I help women break free from the trap of diet culture.
Live fully ❤️ Love deeply ❤️ Laugh often ❤️
